| The Saltmarsh family were one
of the first free settler families of the Norfolk Plains (Longford-Cressy)
district and originally came from Norfolk Island around 1806/7.
William's father, William SALTMARSH Snr. was granted 60 acres of land in the area. (See G.W.Evans "Description of Van Dieman's Land" - 1882). |
